Club training returns for all age groups on Wednesdays

Starting on Wednesday 24th August 2022 and running until 14th December 2022

Juniors 18:00-19:00

Badgers 18:00- 19:30

Adults 19:00-20:30

Training is included as part of club membership fees for Adults

England Hockey Game Management System (GMS)

The new Game Management System for Hockey is now live

Players can register using this link https://gms.englandhockey.co.uk.

The Game Management System (GMS) is England Hockeys new system to record all hockey matches in England.

It is designed to hold all club team and player records as well as game data entered by the team captains or managers.

It is the start of the future for hockey, it will be the home of player profiles which will hold a digital history of games played, match reports and more.

This system is the beginning and is taking its first steps in introducing a common platform for fixtures and results.

The initial launch of GMS will focus on ensuring the basic requirements are all in place. We will be rolling out more functionality and improvements in the planned development phases, over the coming months. The GMS is focused on streamlining competition administration for clubs and administrators. GMS will not replace the club management systems that clubs use.

2021/22 Membership

New members will be required to register on the club website and existing members may need to re-register in order to be eligible for training and matches this season.

The committee have also confirmed the membership fees required from players for the upcoming season. Please see the below link for amounts and payment methods:

If you are unsure of which type of membership you should pay for please ask captains or coaches.

If you are paying via bank transfer add the players name as the reference. It would also be beneficial to notify your captains once you have made a payment.

Learn to umpire

Umpiring is a fun way to get involved in hockey.

England Hockey is running online Level 1 umpiring courses avaliable to all via the Hockey Hub.

If you want to become and umpire let us know and Melton Hockey Club will cobver the £30 course cost.

Each course is 2 hours long and takes place fully online via zoom. Once you have passed the online course you will achieve Level 1 Unassessed status which will enable you to umpire matches for Meltons teams.

CARONA VIRUS (COVID 19)

In light of the ongoing public health concerns surrounding the spread of the Carona virus all Hockey, matches and training, across England has been suspended until further notice on the advice of England Hockey.

This will be reviewed in due course as public advice surrounding the matter changes.

Put your buckets and spades away, beach towels back on the rack and dig out your stick, gumsield and shin pads because training is back.

Starting on Wednesday 28th August

19:00-20:30 All Badgers, Mens and Ladies

From 4th September onwards

18:00-19:00 Juniors of all ages

19:00-20:30 Open session (Badgers and Mens 3xi)

20:00-21:30 Mens and Ladies senior session

For all training sessions please bring your sticks, shin pads and gumsields.

O35s Mens Midlands Hockey Trials

Midland Regional Hockey Association Ltd

To all Midland Clubs.

England Hockey are proposing to hold the first 035 Regional Tournament in August 2019.

I have agreed with the MRHA to canvass clubs to see if there is interest amongst the players in entering a Midland 035 squad.

The proposed dates for a short programme of trials and training to be held at Wrekin College in Telford, are as follows:

Saturday 23rd June – 1st Trial

Sunday 7th July – 2nd Trial

Sunday 21st July – training/games

Saturday 27th July – training/games

Sat/Sun 17th/18th Aug – 035 Tournament – Sheffield.

To qualify, players need to be between 35 and 39 in this calendar year. England work on a 5 year age band as there is an 040 competition as well. However, as 34 year old players in this age band qualify for the international squad next year the organisers are allowing those who are not 35 until next year to play.

At this stage I wish to gauge the interest so could you please pass this information on to your club players who qualify and ask them to send an email to masters@englandhockey.co.uk by the 12th April 2019 registering their interest.

A decision will then be made whether the Midlands will enter the competition and I will then contact everyone one involved with further details.
